Need more informatio: I'm not sure what you mean by sick. Do you mean that you have cramping and nausea? do you mean that you have fever? . Many teens have heavy crampy periods. You can always take an over-the-counter medication like Naprosyn (naproxen) twice a day or ibuprofen 3 times a day a couple days before you expect your period until it is over. Hormonal contraception like the pill or the ring also treats painful cramps
