No, it does not: work like that. You have to follow dosing instructions as prescribed . You may want to discuss alternatives with your obstetrician and let him know your concerns .

Can try: You may try, but most likely your period will still start. Starting your birth control pill may decrease or shorten your period but probably will not stop it.
