Probably not: I would say it is good practice to clean off your thermometer with alcohol or soapy water after using it. Assuming you are still on the antibiotics and that they were working, I would doubt you could be "reinfected" by the same bug from the thermometer. Another possible cause of tonsillitis that is strep negative is infectious mononucleosis ("mono"). Has this been tested?
