A member asked:

My 10yo grandson went from 12.5 mg methylphenidate to 18 mg concerta. he appears to be more amped up with the concerta. could the dose be too high?

Dosing issue: If he is amped up, he may be under dosed. Proper dosing usually hits a happy medium between the busy behavior off meds and a too quiet pattern if overdosed. Making a switch to a new med often requires some time and several tries.
