Summer camp: As long as he has a temp he should be kept home. After 6 days of fever and cough he should be seen to rule out pneumonia or bronchitis

Tough question: On one hand, you've got a kid who feels fine except a cough. On the other hand, you have almost a week of a febrile illness. I guess I would opt to be conservative. Quiet camp activities would be okay, but swimming in a lake, long hikes, rock climbing - things that you can get out of breath with - are probably not a good idea right now. Arts and crafts, a baseball game, even canoeing probably okay

No.: Generally kids with infections are not permitted to come back to school until the fever has gone at least 24 hours. The illness may not have declared itself yet. Sometimes the symptoms are mild and don't really show their true nature until a week or more. Best to keep them away from other children to avoid infecting them or others.
