I have had a plugged ear for about one day from swimming all weekend. can a blow dryer help remedy the problem?

Probably not: You probably need to have it checked - there are 3 possibilities - swimmer ear, wax impaction or infection behind the ear drum. Drying the ear canal at this point with a blow dryer won't help.
