Can intra abdominal abscesses return 6 months after they have been drained? they were caused by a ruptured appendix.

No: If you have symptoms in the same area as the prior abscess then you should see your doctor to be examined. An abscess would not sit there silently for 6 months without causing a problem.

Possibly. But. : I would be concerned about another cause such as Crohn's disease or diverticulitis Was the appendix removed ? Have you been having issues the whole 6 months or do you get better and then relapse ?
