New: External neuromodulation can be done by conventional way using TENS or newer ways usin rTMS ie repetitive trams cranial magnetic stimulation. It is fairly effective in selected patients with a carryover effect that lasts about 3 months

Electrical stimulation increases the pain threshold by stimulation of low-threshold A-beta cutaneous fibers. However, there are other mechanism of action and modes of delivery depending on the goal, such as for pain control versus muscular contraction
