Brain scan: The headache is probably not related to acupuncture and could be a manifestation of something serious. I would advise you to consider a neurological workup possibly including a CT brain scan.

Agree w Dr. Winkler: I haven't seen any cases in which auricular acupuncture caused this type of symptom. What was the auricular acupuncture being used to treat? Sometimes pain levels increase after a pain treatment but should resolved within 1 to 3 days. That is considered a positive outcome in treatment of a chronic pain condition.
