Sinusitis or Otitis?: It is not uncommon to develop a bacterial sinusitis or otitis media infection after initially developing a viral syndrome. Usually the viral symptoms begin to improve, then a secondary bacterial infection ensues. Seek medical attention to be evaluated to determine if you have a sinus or ear infection or other etiology for your symptoms, and to determine if you would benefit from antibiotics.
