Metoprolol is a: Beta blocker which some people take before public speaking for example to relieve anxiety, but you cannot take it for general anxiety it effects your heart

Yes it does: I prescribe it for my wife before we have to take plane trips. She asks for something STRONGER and I ask her if she likes the fact that I have been able to RETAIN my medical license all these years? And then, she calms down about 30 minutes later and enjoys looking out the window at all those little ants on the highway. So it works quite well.
