Temporary discomfort: If it is just a "gulping" and a "brief scream" you may not need to do anything. It is possible he has some gerd, but seemingly not significant. Gulping likely means he breathes in too quickly and swallowed some air causing some distention of esophagus which causes some discomfort, but once that is passed to the stomach, he is then ok. Feeding normally and gaining wt then ok. Consult doc. Good luck.
