Found a hard pea size ball on the outside of my upper thigh on the larger tendon. its tender and hurt a bit to rub it. wondering could this be a clot?

No DVT: There are no deep veins on the upper outer thigh so there cannot be a DVT at that site. You can have a superficial vein that is swollen in that area or perhaps just a fatty tumor in the skin. Go to the doctor and have it checked out.
