Pain after IUD: I recommend you see the doctor who placed the IUD and discuss this with them. It might need to be replaced. They will be able to better advise.

See your doctor: Sometimes some changes can occur after insertion of an IUD- I would be most comfortable of you saw your Gyn or who we've inserted it and confirmed appropriate placement.

Get an exam!: If your provider who gave the IUD is still your provider, return for followup ASAP. Otherwise go to another ASAP to have it checked and corrected. Let's hope this pain warning succeeded in getting your attention before serious physical damage was done. Acute pain is a warning to do something. You may have to learn to live w/ chronic pain. But this is acute! Good luck w/ resolution. Take care.
