A member asked:

I have a mirena (levonorgestrel) iud. i have had it for a year now and it stopped me periods within 2 months after insertion. if i stop using it, when will my periods come back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Within 30 days: And probably sooner. The effects of the Mirena (levonorgestrel) should not last more than a few days after removing. If your periods are not regular over 1 month after removing it's not due to mirena (levonorgestrel).
