Age.: The main factor that contributes to prostate cancer, other than being male, is age. If a man lives long enough, he will evenyually develop prostate cancer. Many times, men have this and die form some other unrelated illness. This is also more common in african american men.

Many associations: There are many things that are associated with the decelopment of prostate cancer but no definite causes. There is such a thing as inheritable prostate cancer but it is a far less common variant.
