What happens if prostrate cancer reoccurs after turp. ?

Here are some ...: TURP is done to surgically relieve bladder outlet obstruction, not to treat prostate cancer. But, the pieces of resected prostate tissue are microscopically examined and at times prostate cancer(P-Ca) will be found. If P-Ca is found, definitive Rx with radical prosttectomy or radiation or cryotherapy may be done for "cure", or just watch it & see. If recurring, ask Doc if Rx or no Rx is needed

Prostate cancer: Not all prostate cancers requires tx. Tx decision depends on staging, PSA, gleason score, etc. TURP is used to treat BPH, or symptomatic prostate cancer. But it does not cure prostate cancer because it only removes portion of prostate. Early stage prostate cancer is usually treated with radical prostectomy or radiation. Thus if prostate cancer re-occurs, can consider above options.
