On my left foot, i have needle pinching pain. i have little burning pain on the ankles. i am pre-diabetic, but my glucose/sugar not that high. ?

Unlikely Diabetes: If not diabetic and sugars well controlled its not likely a neuropathy due to diabetes. However, most often the pain and feet tingling are related coming from the back (sciatica). If you are not improved in a few days, i would suggest you see your doctor for a full evaluation.

If the issue is: unilateral a nerve entrapment should be ruled out. Also, diabetic neuropathy can occur even with normal sugar levels.
