High leukocytes: A white cell count of 17.8 is high, and likely signals an underlying infection. As you mention, too, that you have sugar problems (?type 2 DM), infections can become more complicated. You have a number of reasons to discuss with your doctor asap to find the cause of the high white cells and, if an infection, start treatment asap.
