Addressing obesity: Is a good idea at any age. And for the record...51 is not that old. With improved health from lifestyle changes your father could live many many more years.

Absolutely!: He is NOT too old to lose weight and it's absolutely worth his while to get his health and life on track. Just cut most of the carbs, small portion meals and EXCERCISE! Start slow maybe just some walking and 5 lb weights and gradually work his way up. Best of luck!

Old age!!!: Hey Im older than your dad! The loss of excess weight is a good thing to do at any age. Calorie restriction and quality foods are best with exercise. Pills, supplements drastic diets are not healthy for any age
