Ankle swelling: Flying dehydrates your system. You lose a lot of body fluid in a non hydrated environment and sitting with your legs handing down against gravity pulls the extra fluid in your vascular system to the lowest part of your body. I would hydrate vigorously with 3 liters of water or gatorade and elevate your legs. This should help your kidneys recycle the fluid in your legs. Check your blood pressure
