Phlegm in throat: Some things that may be helpful include use of a mucolytic, such as Mucinex (guaifenesin) or acetylcysteine, to thin out the mucus secretions. As well, some of the mucus in the throat may be from postnasal drip, and doing nasal rinses can be helpful. As well, be sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids during the day.
