Hx:35f metacarpal shaft fx with k-wire orif, removed 2 weeks ago. red swollen painful pip knuckles since removal. pt said maybe arthritis. possible?

Very unlikely.: Degenerative or wear and tear arthritis doesn't occur overnight, so it can't be linked to a procedure 2 weeks ago. If your PIP joints were merely painful with movement or stiff, I might attribute it to the changes in your hand's biomechanics from the MC injury itself or from the initial surgical procedure. Your surgeon needs to evaluate the pain, swelling and redness of the PIP joints promptly.
