Not enough info: Many "heart medications" are also blood pressure medications. If you have concerns about your prescriptions, the best place to start is by seeing your doctor and asking which things your new medicines are treating.

High BP.: Better to take the medications than to leave your blood pressure high. High blood pressure is not safe. And per your question, many "heart medications" are truly blood pressure lowering agents, so this strategy sounds fine.
