A member asked:

I have a hole in heart by birth. i have yearly checkups. so far doctors haven't suggested any medicines. can i have a active life and normal sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It delends: It depends on the type of hole the size of the hole and how much blood flows through the hole. Most holes should be fixed. They may increase risks of strokes, infections, and heart failure. One type of hole-a pfo can be watched. You doctor is your best information source. Ask them. They should educate you on what you have and recommend the best course of treatment. If not-get a new doctor.
