Pregnancy and teeth: Really, it is best to first seek a dental opinion. You may just need a filling. However, if more invasive care (like extractions or surgery) is needed, and if anything but routine medications like antibiotics are prescribed, it's best to let your GYN know. Some dental problems just cannot wait until you deliver.

See your dentist: The dental treatment during pregnancy is considered beneficial. The dental care is safe and effective at any stage of pregnancy, including examination, diagnostic X-rays,fillings, crowns, dental extractions and root canals. Your dentist will coordinate with OB/GYN. See your dentist for evaluation and let the dentist know, you are pregnant.

See your dentist: A tooth infection is not good for you and the baby. Get it treated. Even an Xray and restoration or extraction are better for you and the baby than compromising your health with a diseased tooth for the next six months.

Dentist: Make an appointment with your Dentist. Toothache often indicates infection that requires immediate treatment.Inform your Dentist that you are pregnant. Then call your OB and let them know you are going to the Dentist. If there are any questions they will consult with each other.
