Not likely: If your colon was perforated, you'd likely have much more impressive abdominal pain. However, the symptoms you describe are concerning for other things that you should discuss with your doctor, which may include inflammatory bowel disease, ulcer, medicine related, polyps, etc. It is best to discuss this with a physician and he/she can do the appropriate tests. Exactly how dark?: If your stools are actually black, it is a sign of bleeding high up in your intestines, and you should see a doctor. That said, constipation is a reason to have abdominal discomfort. Drink plenty of water. Try 12 cups daily for a while. Warm water improves intestinal movement better than cold. Exercise also helps with constipation. If your symptoms persist or get worse, go see a doctor.
