Usually: 5-6 weeks post-op is sufficient for a walking boot for that kind of surgery. I'll bet on your upcoming post-op follow up the surgeon will discontinue.

It takes the tissues: about 10-12 to heal completely, So you need to be compliant with your Doc's advice. He should be able to advise you when you come out of it. And Not a day sooner should you stop using it. If you don't do as advised, you might end up needing more surgeries. So be kind to yourself and do as advised by him. Good Luck.
