HgB-F is Fetal ...: HgB-f stands for Fetal Hemoglobin. Usually this is replaced by adult hemoglobins by the age of six months. If there is persistent HgB-f you may have a mild blood dyscrasia. After all you are 38 years old are just finding out about this now. Some medications may induce the production of HgB-as well. So talk to your doctor. Unless you are pregnant, in which case you might ask your Obstetrician.

Hard to say ..: It depends on how high your white blood cell count is but also the numbers of the different types of white blood cells - like neutrophils, lymphocytes, bands, etc. Was there a reason why your doctor completed a hemoglobin electrophoresis - this allows doctors to determine the different types of hemoglobin in your blood. Usually we test for this when a red blood cell abnormality is suspected.

Fetal Hemoglobin: The values of the WBC (white blood count) and hemoglobin (Hgb)-F or fetal hemoglobin are crucial to any answer. High Hgb-F is commonly seen in those with hereditary conditions affecting hemoglobin such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. If you have either of these then high Hgb-F and high WBC can occur. You need to present the actual numbers, and also tell us your ethnicity.
