A member asked:

When they insert a catheter how do they determine that the catheter is in the bladder when they inflate the balloon?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Urine flow: They don't inflate the balloon until they have good urine flow and meet mild resistance. If blowing up the balloon causing discomfort, then they will stop immediately and assume that they are not in the bladder.
