Possible yeast: Sounds like your youngster might have a yeast infection sometimes caused thrush or candidiasis. Typically causes white cottage cheesy looking spots on the inner cheeks or tongue. The corners of the mouth is a common area for it to occur while teething as it is always wet from extra drooling and yeast loves warm, moist spots and so is chief culprit in diaper rash as well. Normal: Teething hurts. Not uncommon for child to not want to aggravate the area where the tooth is coming through. Cold teething ring can help sooth. Important that y0our child have 1st dental examination once baby teeth start to erupt, but no later than 1st b'day. Recommend a pediatric dental specialist, a Pedodontist, who are dents-facial growth and development experts.
