Variable: Dianefuru, Viral gastroenteritis can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms can persist even after the viral infection has cleared due to irritation of the intestinal tract. In some cases, diarrhea can persist for weeks, although this is not usually the case. Normally the nausea and vomiting only last a few days at most.
