??Cure??: Pedialyte is commercial product that mimics the IV solution given for dehydration.It is a welcome product in dealing with infants & children whose fluid balance is easily altered by vomiting. It can be used as fluid replacement for adults but adult systems can often respond to half strength gateraid or many other less expensive products. Pedialyte has to curative powers beyond fluid replacement.

No: During episodes of diarrhea & vomiting, a body rapidly loses vital minerals and nutrients, which can quickly lead to dehydration. Using pedialyte at the first signs of diarrhea and vomiting can help reduce the risk of dehydration.Pedialyte is an electrolyte replacement beverage and not directly a cure for vomiting.
