Had colonoscopy wed of this week. when does the effects of the meds given wear off? versed, propofol and some nausea med. colonoscopy was negative!

Usually quickly. : These meds typically wear off in a matter of a few hours (can be significantly longer if you have kidney disease) but you can feel groggy for a day. You should be back to normal the next day. If not see your dr.

Should be long gone: First, congratulations on your "clean" colonoscopy. To answer your questions, midazolam and propofol are what we consider "short-acting" medications. The effect of these medications would only last for up to several hours after your procedure. You should not have any residual drug effect at this time. As far as the anti-nausea medication goes, they usually last for 4-8 hours after a single dose.
