Is taking the same antibiotic for an abcess that didn't completely clear up an okay thing? won't there be a resistance and cause complication?

Possible: Yes there is always this possibility, this is the reason you should go back to your doctor for follow up, if the abscess did not go away, your doctor may have to try another round of the same antibiotic or change to a different one, your doctor may decide to take other actions to remove the abscess.
