Going to a dentist: See a dentist ASAP for your toothache. In the meantime OTC pain meds can help. Avoid chewing on the tooth that is painful. The longer you wait to see a dentist the more pain you will experience, the more complex and expensive treatment can be.

NSAIDs: Drugs like Motrin, Advil and Aleve (naproxen) in prescription dosage amounts have as much pain relief in studies as narcotics, according to the most recent double blind studies from the University of Pennsylvania. For you personally , check with your dentist.

Tooth ache: Any analgesics can be taken anti inflammatories usually they work well as they help with pain and inflammation . Good idea to consult a dentist to find cause of pain.
