Ask.: Directly ask your surgeon to find out what his certifications are. Specifically ask to make sure he is certified to provide "conscious sedation". Also ask who helps with the anesthetic. Often he/she will have an assistant who is specifically trained to do this. Diprivan is also known as Propofol which is a powerful sedative medication.

Hmm...: In many/most places, diprivan/propofol is limited to anesthesia providers only. Would he have a anesthesiologist or crna there to administer it?

Well trained: Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are required to have extensive training and experience in general anesthesia. Diprivan is a drug that is commonly used and safely administered to monitored patients in many oral surgery offices.
