A member asked:

Can diprivan have fatal effects?

May stop breathing: "diprivan" is the trade name for propofol, a drug that is used both for general anesthesia and for sedation. While it is very safe when used by anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists who are properly trained, it can certainly slow down or stop breathing. If breathing problems aren't recognized promptly and managed appropriately, they could be fatal. Propofol also lowers blood pressure.

Yes: It should only be given by a doctor who can manage your breathing after giving it.
