Stains on teeth: Stains develop on teeth over time. Cavities are worse than stains. Coffee, tea & tobacco stain teeth more than chocolate. Sugars in foods and liquids cause cavities over time. In both cases, the more you don't brush and floss, or at least rinse out after snacks, the more tendency to staining and developing cavities. There is no set number of times or duration that causes problems. Just limit it

No: There are lots of other reasons for stains, however. Glad you're brushing 2-3x/day. Please make sure to use soft t'brush, pea sized portion of fluoridated t'paste, and brush 2 FULL minutes by the clock. Additionally WsterPik or Floss daily to reach the 30% of tooth that t'brush can't reach. And see Dentist every 6 months to make sure that everything is OK and to discuss what can cause stains.
