Indomethacin: Of all the NSAIDs, indomethacin is the most potent inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase enzyme and is the most effective in relieving inflammation. When pain is accompanied by inflammation, indomethacin is more effective than ibuprofen. Although indomethacin has many desirable features, its use may be limited by marked GI effects. Talk to your PCP for more information.
