Acute vs chronic: If he pain is acute, opioids will be the best choice. Opioids are the most effective painkillers for acute pain. However, if the pain is more than 3 month (chronic pain) is managed by chronic pain medications. See your PCP for medication adjustment.

Allergic: You must avoid all NSAIDS and Aspirin as well. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe to take and there are prescription pain relievers that your physician can prescribe that aren't related to NSAIDS or aspirin.
