A member asked:

Which medicine offers stronger pain relief, ibuprofen 800 mg or meloxicam 15 mg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends.: Both medications are Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and similar in their mechanism of action. Ibuprofen usually goes to work more quickly, but meloxicam only needs to be taken once daily. In general, ibuprofen is more useful for acute pain like headaches and injuries, while meloxicam can be better for chronic problems like arthritis. Some people just respond better to one of them.
