Probably normal: There is some evidence that ligament laxity may be associated with an increased tendency to have cracking or popping joints. The noise usually comes from the release of some gases (namely nitrogen) in the synovial (joint) fluid. If there is no pain or discomfort associated with these sounds, you probably need not worry.
