Yes.: Pedialyte is important for hydration. not free or tap water. Pedialyte replaces essential salts lost in the stool, urine and sweat. A good starter for volume is the same amount that the child normally takes in formula or breast milk. If the child is unable to take at least this amount then a local physician needs to evaluate in person.
