A member asked:

Can i give my a baby of 7 weeks old starch water to treat dehydration?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes. Add sugar: Your baby must be well enough to suck and swallow. Sugar water is highly recommended for infant dehydration. Starch requires digestion. Simple sugar is faster. A pinch of salt or baking soda is also helpful. You may place drops of sugar water on the tongue or under the tongue. Then help your baby suck from a bottle that you have made. If this seems ineffective, take your baby to a clinic
