Need evaluation: One possibility is a primary common duct stone (not from the gallbladder) has formed. Details of symptoms and lab values (liver function) can help to sort it out. Since you have a surgeon, I'd go talk to him/her. Another possibility is adhesion (can't do much about them) or a totally unrelated new problem.
