Safe yes but: I do not see where fasting for 16 hours in your case (given the information presented) would be "unsafe."however, physiologically speaking it is not the best thing for your body from a nutritional point of view. Of course, there may be good reason for you to fast on those terms such as preparation for medical procedure etc. But if for weight loss purposes then, I would not advise to do this.
