A member asked:

How dangerous is croup cough in pregnant woman? 6 months pregnant, son has mild croup, i have sore throat a few mornings only. danger to fetus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually no danger: Croup coughs are generally caused by viruses such as parainfluenza, adenovirus, influenza (the flu), and a virus called RSV. None of these viruses should effect the fetus in utero and you should be able to get over them without any extra medical help. However, pregnant women can suffer more problems from respiratory illnesses than non-pregnant women, so if *you* don't feel very well, see your Dr!
