A member asked:

I nursed a baby whom has croup yesterday. he coughed in my face. today i have a sore throat, stuffy nose, a feeling of fullness in my throat and fatigue. is it possible that adults could get croup? i haven't caughed yet...

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Germ yes/croup no: Croup is a syndrome marked by the noisy cough/croup made by the rubbery airways of an infant/child. By age 8-9 the airways have firmed up and are no longer capable of the vibration /noise production. Adults can get the virus & usually have a URI/laryngitis or other related symptoms.
