Laryngitis?: Lost his voice as in cannot talk at all or just hoarse? A viral illness can last 1-2 weeks easy but sounds like it is getting on the long side of things, should have your GP check it out.

Get checked : Can also as well as laryngitis lose the voice with reflux. Worth a check by the doctor and may need consideration of ear nose and throat referral for consideration of laryngoscopy (visualise the vocal cords) to work out what's going on

Laryngitis : Loss of voice is inflammation of voice box ( laryngitis) . It's usually caused by viral infection or voice abuse , antibiotics don't help . Voice rest , steam inhalation help . If not improving please see your doctor.
